The Congress for Ibusa Advancement (C.I.A.) visited the Pro Labore Dei home in Ibusa, which shelters the elderly on Sunday 9th January 2023.
The spokes person for the CIA Ifeoma Iloba Esq. spoke on the objectives of the group as a Communal charity based organisation with membership spanning across the globe including the United Kingdom with one of the objectives being to look into the Advancement of Ibusa. She stated that the group was determined to leave no stone unturned in catering for the community by attending to the needs of all including the elderly. Hon. Francis Osuji also of the C.I.A., encouraged members of the home that growing old is a blessing and assured them of the group’s paramount interest in their well-being. The C.I.A wished members of the home felicitations of the season and presented various items including adult diapers, jars of bleach/ disinfectant, washing detergent and a bag of rice.
In accepting the items, Ms Okojie the Administrator of the Home expressed her delight and gratitude to the Congress for Ibusa Advancement for the gifts. She stated her joy that there are organisations that still remember to do charity and charged the organisation to keep up the good work. She detailed the history of the Home which was originally set up as a soup kitchen but had to evolve into a home when they recognised that those cared for (especially the elderly) had nowhere to go. She spoke briefly on the needs and challenges of members of the home including those who are presently in hospital for medical care.
